Deze wijn is een perfect visitekaartje voor de stijl van het huis en voor het karakter van Barolo’s uit dit gebied. De druiven groeien in verschillende wijngaarden rondom Serralunga, op een gemiddelde hoogte van 300 tot 350 meter. De wijngaarden zijn zowel zuidoostelijk als zuidwestelijk georiënteerd en hebben een voor dit gebied typische bodem van kalkrijke klei, zandsteen en fossielrijke mergel. Dit geeft wijnen met een stevige, maar verfijnde tanninestructuur, elegante zuren en mineraliteit.


Na de handmatige oogst worden de druiven licht gekneusd. De vergisting verloopt langzaam in betonnen cuves, waarbij het sap regelmatig over de schilletjes wordt gepompt voor maximale kleur-en aroma-extractie. Na de vergisting rijpt de wijn, afhankelijk van het oogstjaar, gedurende 18 tot 36 maanden in grote eikenhouten vaten. Een prachtige, complexe wijn met aroma’s van rozen en viooltjes, pruimen, framboos, zwarte kersen, kreupelhout, koffie en cacao. Zacht en precies van smaak met een prachtige balans tussen kracht en elegantie, met mooie zuren en fijne, zachte tannines en een zeer lange minerale en aardse afdronk.

I was really disappointed in this. It did not remove all of the peach fuzz completely and I dermaplaned twice back to back. Which tells me the blades aren’t as sharp as they’re made out to be. The blade handle was sturdy and seemed to be made of good quality. But the blades themselves are horrible at cutting and aren’t razor sharp. I personally wouldn’t purchase this if I were you. I’ll keep the blade handle, but I will definitely be purchasing different blades.
