Description

Neither Master Nor Slave Dad HatThe phrase "Neither Master Nor Slave" was once a rallying cry for abolitionists, radical republicans, and individualist thinkers who rejected domination in all its formswhether from kings, slaveholders, or bureaucrats. This eagle clutching a broken chain is drawn from 19th century American resistance art, where eagles often appeared on coins, seals, and medals as symbols of personal sovereignty and liberation. The design echoes abolitionist medallions

The phrase "Neither Master Nor Slave" was once a rallying cry for abolitionists, radical republicans, and individualist thinkers who rejected domination in all its forms—whether from kings, slaveholders, or bureaucrats. This eagle clutching a broken chain is drawn from 19th-century American resistance art, where eagles often appeared on coins, seals, and medals as symbols of personal sovereignty and liberation.

The design echoes abolitionist medallions and Civil War-era tokens that showed broken shackles and free eagles. But this version goes further: the eagle holds the chain in both its beak and claw, making it clear that the chains weren’t handed to it—they were broken by it. The message is simple: no rulers, no servants. Just liberty.

Embroidered in solid black on a soft, low-profile dad hat. No party branding. No slogans. Just a clean emblem of American defiance almost no one else is offering.
