This magnificent set is a perfect for those seeking unusual middle-eastern collectables. The word 'Jambiya' is the Arabic would for 'dagger,' and this one is particularly interesting due to the handle made from animal horn, as well as the primitive engravings of the star of David, which point towards the Yemeni-jewish artisans who crafted it. 

Another feature worth noting is the glimmering webs of silver filagree, that is encrusted across the scabbard and belt. Despite being of modern origin, this latter is particularly impressive given its sprawling length and the inclusion of other jewellery accessories, like kohl holders, buckles and the Mahfaza belt purse, which would have been essential to store coins. Each side is completed with purple coloured velvet.  

Whilst it is no longer used for armed combat, the Jambiya is still a proud symbol of strength and courage in Yemeni culture, and these qualities remain embedded within every silver thread of this set.
