The Goldback project truly began in spirit with the passage of the Utah Legal Tender Act in 2011 which recognized certain types of Gold as currency within the state. Since that time the technology to mint Gold into a spendable form for small transactions has become a reality.
Currency Highlights:

- Individual notes are housed in an archival quality currency sleeve. Multiple notes will be in 1 protective sleeve.
- Face: A depiction of Industria is shown on the obverse field of each 5 South Dakota Goldback Note. Industria is Latin for diligence. This depiction shows her holding a basket full of crops amidst a field of crops. In the background, we can see a row of silos.
- Back: Displays a reversed image of the front illustration, serving as a sophisticated security feature.

Comfortable but Runs Small
I got the wirarpa Men’s Cotton T-Shirt 2-pack in XX-Large (Black/Gray) and while the shirts are really soft and breathable, they do run small. The XX-Large feels a bit tighter than expected, especially after washing. The cotton material is great and comfortable, but I would recommend sizing up if you’re looking for a more relaxed fit.
The classic crew neck design is versatile, and the shirts are well-made. They hold up well in the wash and maintain their softness. Even though the sizing is a bit off, the quality and price are still excellent for the value.
If you’re okay with a slightly snug fit or decide to size up, this is still a great purchase!
