PBM-3 Mariner Airplane ModelPBM Mariner wood airplane model. Often eclipsed by the Fame of the PBY Catalina, the Mariner none the less was an important aircraft performing anti submarine patrols throughout the Atlantic and the South Pacific. A PBM 3C was responsible for sinking the U boat which sunk the Ark Royal. A small number served with RAF coastal command in 1943. The PBM 3R variant was used as a transport. Over 500 of these aircraft served during the Korean conflict 1950
