Crimson Aura was specifically formulated to give your cheeks a pinch of colour and shimmer without staining, feeling greasy or being too sparkly. Note: this product has slightly less shimmer than our other Aura Accent Balms.

An alkanet root infusion mixed with anthocyanin-rich purple carrot extract gives this balm its gorgeous and 100% plant-based crimson hue.

Hurraw! uses a synthetic mica in their Aura balms. In this case, synthetic means the “sparkles” are made in a laboratory from natural minerals vs. mined from the earth. Traceability, transparency, and safety is imperative when manufacturing cosmetics. Hurraw can trace their ingredients to the gram because we make it ourselves (no-contract manufacturing).

Unfortunately, earth mined ingredients (micas, iron/tin oxides) are nearly impossible to track. Suppliers can rarely provide a certificate of origin, proof of labour conditions, or documentation of what impurities they contain. Hurraw! refuses to use mined micas in their Aura balms due to contamination, heavy metals, and hushed child labour practices.

Importantly, synthetic mica is the third-party tested to be free of antimony, arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury, chromium, cobalt, and nickel. It is also safety tested for human use, i.e. the particles of shimmer are much too large to penetrate the skin and have been thoroughly tested for safe cosmetic use.

Glass/Tin: In an efforts to reduce plastic, Hurraw! chose glass and tin! Aura's glass jar and tin lid are 100% recyclable.

Tiny Air Bubbles: Rare but sometimes appear on the surface due to our pouring process. These do not affect product quality or performance in any way.

Hurraw Balm is certified organic by the Montana Department of Agriculture.

Although you will see “iron oxide” on the ingredient list, it is not used as a colorant and is present at less than <1% in the synthetic mica Hurraw! uses in Aura Crimson.
