In celebration of the Strat's 70th birthday, Fender has released some commemorative and limited new guitars, including this 70th Anniversary Vintera II Antigua Stratocaster. This guitar's aesthetic is rooted in the spirit of the '70s, reviving the beloved Antigua finish, paired with a hand-painted matching pickguard.
Cut from alder, the body of the 70th Anniversary Vintera II Antigua Strat features two deep cutaways and the classic belly contour for comfort. Its maple neck is attached with a robust four-bolt plate connection, and features a '70s "U" profile, allowing players to experience the comfort and familiarity of a vintage instrument for a fraction of the price. The neck is finished in gloss urethane, which makes for a buttery smooth playing experience. On the neck, a rosewood fingerboard sports a vintage-inspired 7.25" radius and is divided by 22 Narrow Tall frets.
A trio of 70th Anniversary Vintage-Style '70s Single-Coil Strat pickups make this guitar shine, sonically speaking. Meticulously designed to deliver the perfect balance of warmth and bite, these pickups are controlled by a 5-position blade, and a Master Volume known as well as two Tone knobs.
Nickel/chrome hardware accents the guitar's sleek Antigua finish, while vintage-style "F" Fender logo stamp sit atop the headstock. A 3-screw vintage-style hard-tail bridge with block saddles, and a bullet-style tremolo arm bring this guitar across the finish line.
