First of all, we wanted to infuse some Japanese element, that is elegant and iconic. Ukiyoe naturally came to my mind, and what else but The Great Wave off Kanagawa? Just for this print, we sampled over 10 suppliers to get the result that

We partnered with Buqi Design to come up with something that I am truely happy with and it was quite an effort for sure. First of all, we wanted to infuse some Japanese element, that is elegant and iconic. Ukiyoe naturally came to my mind, and what else but The Great Wave off Kanagawa? Just for this print, we sampled over 10 suppliers to get the result that we are happy with. 

We initially asked for the best possible zip that is available to the project and ended up well over budget, as we chose the Japan made YKK Excella zip, since I was just blown away but how smooth it is when I first tried the sample. This might be a small detail, but I trust that you will appreciate our effort in the long term. Combined with premium Italian leather, waxed canvas, this is something that I am truely proud of.

Fine Wind, Clear Morning (Red Fuji, 凱風快晴)

Fine Wind, Clear Morning, also known as Red Fuji, is a woodblock print by Japanese artist Hokusai, part of his Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series, dating from c. 1830 to 1832. The work has been described as "one of the simplest and at the same time one of the most outstanding of all Japanese prints" (Wikipedia)

Available in midnight blue (dark blue) and onyx black.

Material: waxed canvas with leather

Fits knife up to 42mm total length (Typically, 24 Gyuto)
