ABOUT THE WEBINAR

In movies ranging from Jaws to The Shining, from The Godfather to The Conjuring, there are scenes that stand out for bringing us to the edge of our seats and sending chills up our spines. This webinar will explore the techniques that the writer of the horror/paranormal screenplay uses to craft those suspenseful, heart-pounding screen sequences, teaching you to make those scary moments on the page just as terrifying to the reader as they would be to an audience watching them play out on a screen in a darkened theater. In the same way that a screenplay for a comedy has to be funny if it's going to sell, the screenplay for a horror movie has to be scary if it's going to sell.

This webinar, taught by horror pro Neal Marshall Stevens (13 Ghosts, Hellraiser:Deader), will explore the nuts and bolts techniques that working screenwriters and filmmakers use to create fear on the page and on the screen, using examples from classic and contemporary films ranging from Night of the Living Dead to Paranormal Activity--including examples from his own screenplays. Participants will explore the importance of properly structuring and setting up scares, where and when to use the "boo" moment, and the importance of developing the "sense of dread."

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • Curious Fear--the instinct that draws us down the corridor
  • The "Boo"--all the different ways to make an audience jump
  • The Structure of the Horror "Gag" -- setting Up and Paying Off a Scare
  • The Art of Misdirection
  • Building Tension
  • The Sense of Dread--tapping into our fundamental fears

Great watch.
Great watch, I mean it’s a Casio so that’s not exactly a hard sell but it looks great if this is your style of watch. I have “a few” watches and about 30 Casios this one is a fun design with a lot of functionality.

Solid, durable watch
This is a solid add to my collection. Casio doesn't make a bad watch, this AE-2000W-1AVCF has all the functionality and durability we've come to expect from Casio. Easy recommendation, especially at this price.

Casio for the Win
I have the Casio W-218 (which is still kicking) and wanted an upgrade. This model has everything I need; full date, more water resistance, mineral glass, and is aesthetically pleasing. The 10 Year Battery is an added bonus. Like most Casio watches this one is easy to set up and use. Fits great on the wrist and functions very well. I plan on buying a replacement strap eventually but I expect no issues from the watch itself.

The perfect size wallet
Color: Leather Logo - Brown
A well-made wallet should last a long time My previous Eddie bauer wallet lasted a long time. Should’ve got rid of it sooner, but who wants to part with a good product? The new wallet is made of excellent leather fits my pocket well it’s a little costly but worth it. You won’t be disappointed by the quality of the leather the design of the wallet. It’s comfortable to use right out of the package.
