A charming 19th century Portuguese red slipware rectangular baking dish, richly decorated in the rustic folk tradition of rural Portugal. Crafted from terracotta and finished with a warm, glossy red slip glaze, this rectangular dish is adorned with creamy hand incised sgraffito designs of fern like fronds and starburst motifs, creating a lively surface pattern that contrasts beautifully with the earthen red ground. The ruffled rim was hand pinched for decorative effect, lending the dish a playful yet refined character, while the applied side handles ensured it was as practical in the kitchen as it was decorative on the table.

Slipware of this type was widely produced in regions such as Alentejo and Estremadura throughout the 19th century, where local artisans relied on time honored techniques passed down from generation to generation. With its folk art motifs and rustic finish, this dish embodies both utility and artistry — once used for baking or serving, today it offers a decorative glimpse into Portugal’s rich ceramic traditions. A delightful collectible for lovers of Iberian pottery, perfect for display in a kitchen or rustic interior.

Great book and opportunity to learn two languages!
Format: Hardcover
My five year olds have recently developed an interest in the Spanish language. We already have the English version so I now read both to my girls (and also translate the Spanish book when reading). They really enjoy it and I am getting to brush up on the Spanish I haven't used since high school. The pages are illustrated nicely and although the translation is slightly different, it tells the basic story and you can follow along in the English book. I recommend this item.

Still rhymes
Format: Hardcover
I bought this twice for some Spanish speaking friends kids. I read through it and somehow it still rhymes in translation. Super cute.

On to the next generations
Format: Hardcover
The baby grams are in Spanish immersion in their school. This is a wonderful way for them to get my childhood classics (which I read to them regularly) in Spanish. I bought several different books and they have enjoyed them. And so have I!!
