The clay is mined form the mountains surrounding the city, following the traditions of the first potters who came Guanajuato generations ago. Women artisans hand-paint the unfired ceramics while men work the kilns. Each piece is a unique piece of art that captures the flavor and artistry of the region.

Global Craft's mission is to offer income-generating opportunities to artisan groups in developing countries by bringing beautiful products to mainstream markets.  Global Crafts follows Fair Trade practices which include paying advances to partners to cover cost of goods, ensuring producers receive payment, and ensuring that the groups work in safe conditions. 

There’s no sign to find the small family-owned ceramic workshop in the state of Guanajuato. Behind the large wooden gate, women artisans are hand painting unfired ceramics while men work the kilns, as they have since the late 70’s. Each piece has personality from the dots and swirls to the handpainted logo on the bottom. And each is lead free, microwave and dishwasher safe.
