The Bombers McHardy Dressage Loose Ring Snaffle has a ported design to allow space for the horse's tongue, with the mobility of a double joint.

The port relieves tongue pressure and promotes relaxation, while the central lozenge is flattened to further spread tongue pressure out over a greater surface area.

Bombers recommend the McHardy for horses that show signs of being tongue sensitive and get a little low in front. 

The blue sweet iron mouthpiece oxidises easily, creating a warm, sweet taste in the horse's mouth. This encourages the horse to salivate, gently mouth the bit and relax his jaw, and can help horses who have difficulty accepting conventional metal bits.

The loose rings keep the bit mobile in the horse's mouth, encouraging gentle mouthing and discouraging 'fixing' against the contact. They also allow for immediate relief from tongue and bar pressure when rein aids are relaxed, thus rewarding the horse quickly for a correct response.
