The Kwaiken is a Japanese dagger Kwaiken, which has its roots far back in history, at a time when there were still samurai as a class. The main purpose of this dagger was self-defense, and, in enclosed small rooms, where it was difficult or simply impossible to use a long samurai sword.

Because the Kwaiken was carried by the Samurai and the Samurai were at the time considered the most elite military unit, I thought it only fair and true to it's roots to name it after the now most elite military unit in Japan, the SFG

• Steel Type: CPMD2 - CPMD2 is a high carbon, high chromium tool steel that is used for knifemaking and metalworking. It is made by powderizing and re-smelting D-2 steel powder, which results in more evenly distributed carbides than D-2 steel. This improves the steel's toughness, corrosion resistance, and heat treatment response.
• Key points about the SFG:
  • Function: Counter-terrorism, hostage rescue, direct action operations both domestically and overseas. 
  • Origin: Established on March 27, 2004. 
  • Nickname: Sometimes called "Japan's Green Berets" due to training similarities. 
  • Base location: Camp Narashino in Funabashi, Chiba.
