Riff Tamson was a Karkarodon warlord from the oceanic planet Karkaris who served as a brutal commander for the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Tasked by Count Dooku, Tamson disrupted the fragile peace between Mon Cala's Mon Calamari and Quarren species, assassinated King Yos Kolina, and instigated a civil war, using Separatist forces and Aqua Droids to enslave and terrorize the planet.

Nossor Ri was the Quarren chieftain of Mon Cala who initially allied with Tamson and the Separatists, believing it was best for his people. However, disillusioned by Tamson's cruelty and realizing the harm caused to both Quarren and Mon Calamari, Ri eventually turned against him, helping unite the planet's factions to defeat the Separatists.

Separatist Aqua Droids were underwater combat droids designed for aquatic environments, used extensively by Tamson on Mon Cala. They played a key role in enforcing Separatist control but were ultimately defeated by the united Mon Calamari and Quarren forces
