The grain is naturally figured, showing attractive variations where the growth rings shift with the rhythms of the tree’s growth and changing moisture conditions.

This block has a minor wane edge, as shown in the photos, which will turn away completely during the shaping process. The block is rough-cut and unsanded, giving turners and carvers the freedom to shape and refine the piece to their own vision. Our oak blocks have been air-dried slowly and evenly; moisture content is below 10%. This helps minimize the risk of cracking or movement once work begins.
