The FourX Return-Type control system has everything needed to provide a stand-alone fuel pump speed control system for up to four high-power brushed pumps.

Key Features:

  • Works with all brushed type fuel pumps
  • Typical power reduction to the pump(s) of 45-75% during idle and cruise -> reduced heat generation
  • Includes a stand-alone MAP sensor for pump speed control
  • All pumps are under PWM control.
  • Plumb the fuel system using traditional regulators, filters, and return lines.
  • Developed for in-cell use where the primary output feeds a lift and pressure pump, and the secondary output controller the third and fourth. However, it will work with any two, three, or four pump system.
  • For Forced Induction systems only. Please contact Aeromotive for naturally aspirated applications

High-horsepower pumping systems can create excessive heat that can lead to vapor lock. Vapor lock, a condition where the fuel somewhere in the system boils, can cause pumping to effectively stop and/or induce vapor bubbles. It can happen anywhere from the pump inlet all the way into the fuel rails.

With pumps being about 1/3 efficient, it is understandable that all of the OEM manufacturers are using a form of speed control to slow down the pump(s) during low fuel demand conditions.

Combine high power pumps and engine heat that is returned to the fuel tank on a return-type system, and the fuel tank becomes a large thermal battery. The hotter the fuel becomes, the more susceptible the system is to vapor lock. It is very common on warm days that the fuel tank becomes so hot that it is uncomfortable to keep a hand on it.
Imagine the engine in your car running at wide open throttle all the time. Stuck in traffic with the engine spinning at 6500rpm and roaring. Only a small fraction of the engine power is needed, hence, the need for a throttle. That is what Pulse Width Modulation is for fuel pumps, a power throttling mechanism.

Large pumps like the TI Automotive 450 and 525lph pumps can take 22+ amps to drive at full power. The 450lph pump, commonly referred to as the Hellcat pump, and the 525lph, or the Demon pump, are controlled by Mopar using Pulse Width Modulation. PWM is simply turning the pump on and off thousands of times per second. The longer the electrical pulse is on, the faster the pump(s) spins. However, there must be some kind of input/feedback to tell the electronics how to change the pump speed. The FourX uses a stand-alone MAP sensor to provide the feedback needed to control the pump speed.

The FourX system consists of a primary and secondary PWM controller output. Under normal idle/cruise driving, the #1 and #2 pumps are on the primary side and running fast enough to provide sufficient fuel pressure. Even with both pumps running a near 30% reduction in power vs. a single full-speed pump is achieved. The #3 and #4 pumps are attached to the PWM secondary output but follow at a much lower duty cycle than the primary side. As the primary side increases in output power, so does the secondary side in a leader-follower arrangement. Since all pumps are connected through the PWM controller, they will ramp together in a smooth manner without the need for relays, Hobb’s switches, and other similar devices.

The MAP sensor provided is a 2.5bar LSA/LS9 type. This sensor has shown to have more than adequate range for all supercharged applications. Aeromotive offers EFI pressure regulators, filters, and hoses with sufficient flowrate and pressure capacity to work well with any system. Be sure to size your fuel lines accordingly. AN8 minimum for up to 1200hp. AN10 for 1200hp.

It is recommended that for supercharged applications that manifold referenced fuel pressure be used with the fuel pressure set to approximately 43psi at idle. This will reduce the load on the fuel pump(s) and the vehicle electrical system.

The FourX Controller includes these standard features:

  • Everything needed electrically to drive three or four brushed fuel pump(s) electrically.
  • Easy to set idle/cruise primary pump speed adjustments.
  • #3/#4 pumps ramp in automatically. No adjustments needed
  • A significant reduction in the average fuel pump power requirement resulting in lower fuel temperatures and longer pump life.
  • Uses standard return-type plumbing systems. Can be used to replace currently installed Hobb's pressure switch + relay applications.
  • 110A minimum continuous power rating in a compact controller package.
  • Over-temperature shutdown with automatic reset that will operate indefinitely without damage.
  • Short circuit output protection that will operate indefinitely without damage.
  • OEM Delphi/Aptiv connections for terminals, seals, and connector bodies.
  • All cross-linked polyethylene wiring.
  • UL94 rated components used throughout.
  • Integrates into the OE ECM to allow all safety systems to remain functional.
  • 10-18v operating capacity. Lower than 10v applied to the turn on circuit will cause controller shutdown to protect from an AFR lean condition.

Still looking for a better brand
Flavor Name: Original Beef
These are fine for what they are and are better than most brands. I loved their discontinued Cranberry Habanero beef sticks. Those worked great within my KETO lifestyle and were their best tasting offering. Then, these fools decided they wanted to basically cater to Carnivore or Carnivore-leaning lifestyles and did away with the best version of their meat sticks. They've never gotten the basic Habanero beef sticks to where I like the taste. This plain version will do as will the Salted Beef sticks until I find another brand that does a decent Cranberry Habanero or similar offering without the ick. However, the last box of Salted Beef sticks that I purchased directly from Chomps both tastes and feels underdone to me and I have to heat before eating them. I also ordered and tried their limited edition Smoky BBQ beef sticks. They were just meh. Had my brother try them and he also said they were meh. Decent brand but I am still looking for a brand to come into the arena and lay waste to all of the others. UPDATE: I purchased two boxes directly from Chomps. They are trash. Got sick after eating two. Some smell absolutely horrible upon opening and others in the boxes taste disgusting. The ones that haven't smelled or tasted bad at first bite, DONT TASTE DONE. That's it. I won't be purchasing from Chomps either through Amazon or directly. I no longer like or recommend this brand.

Great tasting
Flavor Name: Wagyu Beef Steak, Size: 20 Count (Pack of 1)
I ordered both the wagyu beef and the venison . Just received them today. I’ve only tried the wagyu beef so far and I’m very impressed. It’s not overly salty and more like a dried hamburger beef. Not to dry to need a flosser like other Jerky’s. The venison is way to salty I definitely prefer the Wagyu

The best meat sticks!
Flavor Name: Wagyu Beef Steak, Size: 20 Count (Pack of 1)
These are the best meat sticks I’ve found so far! They are very clean and go down well. Very tasty. If you need more protein on the go-these are a no-brainer. Slightly pricey, but worth it!

Not bad. Read the box.
Flavor Name: Wagyu Beef Steak, Size: 0.8 Ounce (Pack of 10)
First of all, this isn't really beef jerky and nowhere do they state that it is. Simply put, it is not your typical beef jerky. I don't know how these are processed because there are not nitrates, nitrites, or even celery powder - which are the ingredients used for curing meat. Yes, these are ground and formed meat strips, just as it says on the box and on each individual strip wrapper. These lack all the extra preservatives and additives that other strips and jerkys have. And although some of the other meats that they have are flavored with cranberry, apple, or bacon, these don't have much flavoring at all. Just added honey, which keeps it from being totally vile. When I first opened the package, the scent was that of old time (not ancient) jerky. The way jerky looked and tasted in the 70s. But the flavor is really meaty/bloody tasting, with little hint of honey that makes it palatable. I'm not hating on this, it's rather not really too bad... just gotta get used to that bloody raw meaty taste. I've had their beef/bacon/cranberry bars and those were not edible. They were totally disgusting. Maybe it's because these are thinner and more like jerky (you get less of a mouthful) that I find them easier to swallow. I'v had quite a bit of their "bacon" bars (note, they are bars, not strips), and really wish they'd make the bacon bars thin like these strips as well. Although I like the bacon best, sometimes it's just too much... it's like spam but not as tasty. The texture of these is much better. Bottom line, if you expect these to taste like O'berto stips, then don't get them. If you expect something that tastes like a caveman's dinner, then this is it.

Meh
Flavor Name: Wagyu Beef Steak, Size: 20 Count (Pack of 1)
This is not beef jerky but rather and "ground and formed" meat snack. Not particularly rich, not particularly flavorful, and thus not particularly Wagyu.
