Wyoming's dark skies and no light pollution in the wilderness made it ideal astrophotography condition. Taken as a single frame, long exposure with no HDR, light painting, or composite techniques, this photograph was processed using only traditional digital darkroom techniques and is a prime example of how spectacular the stars are in Wyoming. The mountains are lit up from starlight alone at around midnight. A truly memorable 'warm' summers night (it was 50 degrees!) in the alpine high country above 10,000 feet.
