Maria and Alex's winery is nestled on the shallow slops of Burgenland next to the beautiful Neusiedl lake. Since 2011. they have been preserving the natural wine making traditions that have been in their family for over 500 years. All vineyard work is done with respect and care, with biodynamic principles and manual labour at the core of their ethics, and low intervention winemaking is the top priority in the cellar.  All of their wines are matured without sulphur and bottled without fining or filtration. 

For this extremely approachable red, the grapes were destemmed and fermented naturally on skins for 8 days with no additives or temperature control. After pressing, the juice was pumped into fibre glass tanks (Zweigelt + St.Laurent) and large acacia barrels (Zweigelt)., then matured on lees for 6 months before being blended together. The result is a bright red packed with note of dark cherries, spice and hints of earth. Imagine Grandma's dark cherry pecan pie enjoyed under a willow tree...
