The Craft: Carved Jade and Gold Accents

A slender ebony wood hair stick forms the base. At the top, a gold-plated copper connector holds a chain with three pendants: a circular pink stone, a flower-shaped charm with gold detailing, and a teardrop-shaped icy Malaysian jade carved into a persistent flower bud. The chain is fine — don't yank on it.

The jade is carved by hand, so each bud has slight variation in shape. The gold-plated parts are attached with small loops; they swing freely when worn.

The Materials

Ebony is one of the densest hardwoods. It polishes to a deep, matte black with no visible grain. The stick feels solid and heavy in hand. Icy Malaysian jade is a pale, translucent stone — light pink in this piece, with subtle natural inclusions. The freshwater pearl is small and round, with a soft luster.

Gold-plated copper may tarnish over time. Wipe it dry after use. The jade and pearl are natural materials; slight color and texture variation between pieces is normal and not a defect.

Fit & Care

This stick works best for fine to medium hair. The slender shaft (about 5mm thick) and pendant chain make it less suited for very thick or heavy hair — the stick may not hold securely, and the chain could snag. For thicker hair, consider a sturdier wooden hair stick without pendants.
