Description:
How to overcome barriers to the long-term investments that are essential for solving the world's biggest problems
There has never been a greater need for long-term investments to tackle the world's most difficult problems, such as climate change and decaying infrastructure. And it is increasingly unlikely that the public sector will be willing or able to fill this gap. If these critical needs are to be met, the major pools of long-term, patient capital-including pensions, sovereign wealth funds, university endowments, and wealthy individuals and families-will have to play a large role. In this accessible and authoritative account of long-term capital investment, two leading experts on the subject, Harvard Business School professors Victoria Ivashina and Josh Lerner, highlight the significant hurdles facing long-term investors and propose concrete ways to overcome these difficulties.
Presenting the best evidence in an engaging way by using memorable stories and examples, Patient Capital describes how large investors increasingly want and need long-run investments that have the potential to deliver greater returns than those in the public markets. Yet success in such investments has been the exception. Performance has suffered from both the limitations of investors and the internal structure of their fund managers, often resulting in the wrong incentives and a lack of long-term planning.
Yet the challenges facing long-term investors can be surmounted and the rewards are potentially large, both for investors and society as a whole. Patient Capital shows how to make long-term investment work better for everyone.

My go-to energy drink for years, no crashes or headaches
Flavor Name: Zero Ultra, Size: 16 Fl oz (Pack of 15)
Consistent energy, good taste, and no weird side effects
✔️ Sugar-free with no crash
✔️ No headaches or jittery feeling
✔️ Clean, smooth energy boost
✔️ Good flavor without being overly sweet
✔️ Reliable enough for long-term daily use
✔️ Subscription makes it easy to keep stocked
I’ve been buying Monster Zero Ultra for years and have it on subscription. It’s the one energy drink I consistently go back to. I've tried most others and they all leave me feeling weird.
I actually feel a noticeable energy boost from it, but without the downsides I’ve had with other drinks. No headaches, no weird jittery feeling, and no crash later on.
The flavor is also solid (this one and Ultra Violet are my go tos') , not overly sweet, and easy to drink regularly. I only buy sugar-free energy drinks, and this checks that box without sacrificing taste. I limit myself to one a day after the gym and water the rest of the day.
After trying a lot of different brands, this is the one that’s stayed consistent for me, which is why I’ve kept it on subscription.

Clean, Crisp Energy Drink
Flavor Name: Zero Ultra, Size: 16 Fl oz (Pack of 15)
This energy drink has a light, crisp flavor that is noticeably less heavy than many traditional energy drinks. It has a slightly citrus style taste with a smooth carbonation that makes it easy to drink without feeling overly sweet or syrupy.
The zero sugar formula keeps it feeling cleaner on the palate, which I appreciate when I want something refreshing instead of something thick or overly intense. It goes down easily and does not leave a strong aftertaste.
I find the energy boost to be steady and consistent, without feeling like an abrupt spike. It feels more balanced, which makes it easier to use during long work periods or when I need to stay alert without feeling overwhelmed.
The 16 ounce can size is convenient, and the pack format is practical for keeping stocked at home or grabbing on the go. It is easy to chill and stays refreshing cold.
Overall, this is a smooth, lightly flavored energy drink with zero sugar, consistent performance, and an easy drinking profile that makes it a reliable option for everyday energy needs.

My Favorite Flavored Sparkling Water
Flavor Name: Black Raspberry, Size: 17 Fl Oz (Pack of 12)
Sparkling Ice Black Raspberry has honestly become my favorite flavored sparkling water. The flavor is strong enough to actually taste satisfying without being overly sweet, and it has a really refreshing balance compared to many other zero-sugar drinks.
One thing I especially like is that it feels much more enjoyable than plain water while still avoiding the heavy sugary feeling that comes with regular soda. The carbonation level is also good in my opinion because it gives the drink a crisp texture without feeling overly aggressive or flat.
The black raspberry flavor stands out nicely and does not have the strange aftertaste that some zero-sugar drinks tend to develop. It has consistently been one of the easiest flavored waters for me to keep buying regularly.
I also appreciate the added vitamins and the convenience of having a flavorful alternative available when trying to avoid higher-calorie drinks.
Overall, this has easily been my go-to sparkling water, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a flavorful zero-sugar drink option that still feels refreshing and satisfying.
