A long time ago, call it two centuries or so, what's now known as the Spring Garden Historic District assembled as a couple neighborhoods around Philadelphia's Fairmount Avenue, Vine Street, and Spring Garden Street. In 2019, we moved in to 1004 Spring Garden Street to formally found Russo Music Philadelphia. Today, we have the Lucy.

The Russo Music Lucy is a custom-assembled electric guitar made with wood from 1004 Spring Garden Street's original founding. With wood sourced from our store's initial renovations, itself first put there centuries ago during its original construction, two-hundred-year-old yellow pine serves as this guitar's body for an instrument that, from square one, bursts with history. The Lucy uses this wood to take on an iconic single-cut shape for a timeless look at every level. Further assembled using quality parts and sharing the name of Mrs. Lucy Russo, who first started Russo Music with her husband Stephen, this guitar is a truly unique instrument you won't find elsewhere.

Sourced from 1004 Spring Garden Street's original pine joist rafters, the Lucy's singlecut body is made of two hundred-year-old yellow pine. This wood, weighing in at a more substantial, retro-inspired weight, is fitted with a smuggler's rout for resonance and weight relief. The singlecut body is additionally wrapped in a vintage-inspired nitrocellulose gloss lacquer for an aesthetic reminiscent of classic '50s and '60s models. Showing off the deep, textured grain of the ancient pine, each model's nitro lacquer finish exhibits its unique character directly.

Here, the Lucy builds up with a series of quality parts that bring it into a fully three-dimensional instrument. Its AllParts brand, vintage-spec'd maple neck joins its body in a '60s "C" profile with a nitro finish of its own. Its rosewood fingerboard rounds out to a retro-inspired 7.25" radius for a vintage feel on the fingers.

Lucy sings with a couple of quality electronic pieces full of personality. In either position, the Russo Music Lucy features an exclusive hand-wound Luther Lee single-coil pickup. Wound for a classic, cool '60s-style tone in the neck and a hotter, P-90 tone in the bridge these Russo Music exclusive single-coils feature Alnico V magnets, Emerson Premier Pro solid shaft potentiometers, and Orange Drop capacitors. This custom-assembled instrument tops off with a Kluson Hybrid brass barrel saddle strings-through-body bridge, a bone nut, and Kluson 6-In-Line Deluxe Series tuning machines with vintage plastic buttons.

This limited edition Russo Music specialty doesn't travel alone, however. From our friends at D'Addario, the Lucy travels with a Pro Plus capo, a microfiber polishing cloth, a Nexxus 360 rechargeable headstock tuner, a fifteen-foot instrument cable, and a bottle of finish detailer. The Lucy dresses up with an included Russo Music exclusive Souldier guitar strap while a Gator Cases Journeyman Deluxe wood case with a custom Russo Music badge escorts it from place to place in style.

Two hundred years ago, the builders of what became 1004 Spring Garden Street had some pine and a nifty building. Today, we've got the same pine, the same building, and a beautiful instrument. You think you like Lucy? We know you'll love Lucy.

Cute
Color: A White, Color: A White
It's super cute and goes well with the decor in my room. Comes with a leather bottom and easy to put together. Only problem is that's is a easy to fall apart as well. If one side is heavier then the other it will be lopsided. Holds necklaces okay... if you have heavy charms on them they will fall off.

Disappointing
Color: A White
The plastic was a little cheaper than I thought it would be, and the whole thing was a little smaller than I was picturing, you aren't able to rest necklaces on it because it's too short. Unfortunately I got it as a gift for someone else so I can't speak to its longevity but it was a bit disappointing.

Adorable!
Color: A White, Color: A White
I'm not sure what I saw in Mt mind's eye when I ordered this, but this was not it. HOWEVER, this little deer can't be more than 3.5 inches long and with it's over exaggerated antlers it actually makes the CUTEST little jewelry tree. As you can see I put studs thru the holes where the pairs are in symmetrical spots, but as my daughter said "it's kind of awkward that they aren't closer" But the studs I'll keep in place will be my least used, so it shouldn't be an issue. This little tree is made of very lightweight plastic which snapped together easily, but a big part of me hopes to someday find one a bit larger, made of ceramic. As my daughter said "it's by far the most creative one I've ever seen"

Not worth it
Color: A White
Cheap and flimsy, Fell over with my jewelry on it. Everything got tangled because eit wasn't spaced out. For anyone looking to buy it--dont. It may not be tall enough for your necklaces to dangle and not drag on the tray. However it is beautiful, would not buy again
