A legendary instrument with a sound to match, the Gibson Thunderbird has anchored the low end since 1963. Created by Ray Dirtrich (automotive designer and designer of the Firebird), the Thunderbird draws inspiration from the automotive aesthetics of the '50s and '60s, featuring a distinctive asymmetrical body and an extended 34-inch scale length, Gibson's inaugural full-scale bass. For 2026, Gibson revives this classic 4-string with refined specifications that honor its heritage.

Built from solid mahogany, the Thunderbird's offset reverse body commands attention with its distinctive silhouette. Though the raised center section suggests a neck-through design, this model employs a traditional glued in, set-neck for reliable playability. The mahogany neck plays smoothly with its SlimTaper profile, crowned by a rosewood fingerboard featuring acrylic dot position markers and 20 frets.

Sonic character comes from dual EB Bass humbucking pickups positioned at the bridge and neck, crafted to unleash the Thunderbird's signature deep, commanding low-end response. Independent volume controls on each pickup enable custom tonal blending, while a master tone control refines the overall voice.

Dressed in Tabocco Burst Perimeter with premium hardware throughout, the Thunderbird presents meticulous craftsmanship at every detail. A fully adjustable Hipshot Supertone bridge anchors the strings, which route to the non-reverse headstock and Hipshot Ultralite Mini-Clover tuning machines. Classic appointments; a 3-ply white pickguard bearing the Thunderbird logo and black top hat knobs with silver accents complete the aesthetic. A hardshell case provides protection for transport and storage.

Command the low end with style on redesigned Thunderbird Bass.

A great line of sight phone holder with a few flaws.
Overall this does the job and is priced affordably the pros and cons are as follows: Pros: Strong magnet Solid construction Great for line of sight Charges well Cons: Charging cable is not long enough to route inside my car holder tends to droop down slightly with my phone on it (Pixel 7), not so much that it's failing but just not holding it's set position

Does not swivel and slow charger
As mentioned in another review, you cannot change the angle of the phone so it faces the other way since it does not swivel. Wish I wish I would have known that before placing it. Also, the charger is REALLY slow. It’s slower than the MagSafe chargers I have in my house. I’m not sure if this is defective. I only used it on my way home from work, and I will be returning it.

Almost perfect
Style: Screen+Charger
Solid mount. I’ve tried other ones but they don’t sit as nicely as this one. It also has a lot of adjustments to allow for using it any way you need it to so it is very versatile. The magnet strength is really good and holds my phone really well. Sometimes it feels too strong which I guess is a good thing. The charging works well but I wish the cable was a little longer

Works great! It’s been a fantastic upgrade for my car. The installation was quick and seamless, and it fits perfectly with the Tesla interior. The wireless charging stays fast and stable. I highly recommend it.

Almost Perfect But With Workaround it Rocks
Style: Dash+Screen+Qi2 Charger, Style: Dash+Screen+Qi2 Charger
This works almost perfectly in my Tesla, with one small tweak for hot summer conditions. It holds my phone very well overall—I position it slightly off-center at about the 10 o’clock position. However, with a larger phone like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the combination of weight and summer heat can cause the mount to slowly rotate as the suction cup loses some grip. I found a simple fix that works extremely well: applying a small amount of rosin (the same kind used for violin bows) to the friction point where the rotating arm meets the suction base. That added grip completely solved the issue. Now the mount stays exactly where I position it, even in the heat. Solid product, and with that minor adjustment, it performs exactly how I need it to.
