We have sourced a small collection of thrown Martaban stoneware storage jars with an iron-rich glaze. The body features relief moulded panels with stylised birds and foliage,  a rare decorative detail more commonly reserved for higher grade export jars.

Martaban jars were produced across Burma and northern Thailand and used throughout the Maritime Silk Road for transporting liquids and dry goods.
