Jaclyn Pappalardo’s Ovulo birdhouse reflects the organic shapes and forms found in nature.
Ovulo was created for a South London Gallery show, featuring work by a group of young British artists and designers who answered a brief to create architectural, functional and design-led birdhouses. The exhibition was in partnership with design collective Computer Room, and Flock Together – an initiative set up to bring POC creativity to nature.
As a designer and maker, Jaclyn is renowned for her innovative use of materials; here she uses inflated metal to achieve the birdhouses’ fluid shape. “The piece is presented in its raw, unfinished state, deliberately designed to decompose over time” explains Jaclyn. “This serves as a contemplative reflection on the evolution of habitats as they interact with the passage of time” she continues, “gradually becoming an integral part of its surrounding environment.”
The Ovulo birdhouse has been coated with a wax furniture polish that will keep it from rusting and ageing but after ten years or so it could start to show signs of weathering. In order to maintain its condition it can be re-waxed and re-buffed.
Use stainless steel cleaner and a microfibre cloth to clean.
Each piece is handmade and therefore will have its own unique variations.

Very nice suit! We got tons of compliments. Please note it does NOT come with an undershirt. We used this for a First Holy Communion, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a wedding! The material was the best that I've seen compared to the four other suits I bought on amazon (I was skeptical and crunched for time)...this won! Great value for the money too. My kid felt very sharply dressed, and wants to find another occasion to wear this light blue suit lol
