SAI FILTER IS INCLUDED

THE VWR R600 INTAKE

Welcome to the VWR R600 intake. We believe that this is the world's most sophisticated intake for MQB-platform EA888 cars.

Functionally, a vastly-enlarged airbox houses a giant TriFoam triple-layer filter. Using twin front air intakes, from both sides of the front panel, this rates the intake up to 600bhp through the very significantly improved mass airflow through to the turbo. Appearance-wise, the airbox is manufactured in the UK from the same PU material as the original factory airbox, matched in to the same finish and appearance as the engine cover.

This attention to detail extends to all the fittings, which use the factory mounting methods ensuring simple and reliable fitment. All to assure you of the same levels of quality and durability as a factory part.

PERFORMANCE

The VWR R600 Intake System comes with an oversized domed High-Flow TriFoam air filter designed to provide increased surface area and dust capacity. This extra surface area provides even more airflow with lower restriction, to ensure that the largest volumes of the coolest possible air is available to the engine at all times. With the filter rated to 600bhp, this gives great "headroom" for any future upgrades you may have planned, and ensures that the intake system is operating comfortably within its capacity at all times. This maximizes efficiency and improves drivability and torque throughout the rev range - turbocharger spool dropped nearly 500 RPMs, reducing turbo lag and creating faster turbo response.

Standard filter area = 43,200mm

VWR R600 filter area = 96,477 mm

Expect greater horsepower and torque above 4,500rpm with a more direct and responsive feel under throttle. As shown in the illustrative power and torque curves above (this particular test performed on a Golf 7R stage 1), it is the area under the curve difference from factory that you will really feel, as the engine is freed to breathe with less restriction as revs increase.

Of course, air intake temperature plays a major role in engine performance, especially on turbocharged engines, and this is another major improvement of the R600 versus the standard airbox. In an effort to maintain the lowest possible temperatures, the VWR R600 Intake system draws cool fresh air from not one but two intakes across the front of the car through to the giant, sealed airbox. The PU material that the air box itself is constructed from (the same as the original factory part) provides significant heat insulative properties, helping to prevent heat soak into the intake airflow.

DEVELOPMENT

The R600 has been extensively tested on different cars around the world, and as you would expect no expense has been spared during the research and development process. Pulling together the best motorsport CFD designers to develop the optimum flow patterns, and CAD designers to package the intake precisely into the engine bay, together with the styling determined by an OEM designer all adds up to why we are so confident of the abilities of the new R600.

The R600 engineering team's overall brief has been focused on optimizing the pressure ratio between the inlet and outlet through maximizing filter efficiency. Hence the final specification of greatly increased airbox volume, the twin front-panel intake design and the more than doubling of filter surface area.

Our development has shown that a high-flow intake system on the Golf 7 / MQB EA888 engines really only gives worthwhile gains once power outputs reach over 300bhp - up to that level, the original factory intake is satisfactory, especially when combined with a VWR High Flow Panel Filter. So to really get the most from the VWR R600 intake, its fitment should be combined with a reputable ECU upgrade.

Our testing program has been conducted around the world on the VWR R600 Intake. We have used Golf 7R, Golf 7 GTI and Audi S3 models, and each has given very worthwhile gains as the standard air box and filter reaches and exceeds its airflow capacity.

THE R600 FILTER

The VWR 600 domed intake filter unit itself is constructed from a TriFoam triple-layer laminate of open-cell polyurethane foam, which gives an exceptionally high level of filtration to protect the engine from contaminants in the air down to well below 5 microns, whilst not greatly restricting airflow.

This exact same filter material has been used by F1 teams around the world due to its excellent filtration and airflow properties. In our experience, cheaper (and single-layer) foam filter materials are simply unable to deliver the same flow and filtration meaning a potentially very risky compromise for your engine.

SOUND QUALITY

The VWR R600 intake system delivers a rich induction noise as soon as you first accelerate hard. With the increased airflow from this system, you will also not miss the sound of the diverter valve opening when you lift between gears. However volume levels are well-contained, and the sound quality is music to the ears of any enthusiastic driver!

Terrific Gift - With One Big Catch
Format: Hardcover
There's one thing that you really need to know about this book before ordering. And by all means, you should definitely order it if you or someone that you love is a fan of Gravity Falls. I watch the show with our Daughter, who also happens to be a diehard Bill Cipher fan. And she absolutely loves this book, it made her so happy to get it as a Christmas present. It's visually amazing, awesome illustrations, good colors. Just full of cool stuff that will appeal to any fan of the show. But, there's one catch..... A good portion of the book includes writing that's in cursive. Back in 2010, Common Core led to most states dropping requirements for students to learn writing in cursive. In the years that followed, about half of the states in America changed their tune. But it's entirely possible that you live in a state that doesn't require it to be taught in public schools. So if your child doesn't know how to read cursive, there's going to be parts of the book that they simply can't read. But even if they can, there are also parts of the book in which the writing is very small, or the graphics look almost pixelated and slightly fuzzy. Which still makes certain parts a little difficult to read. That said, should you still buy the book? 100% yes, because that doesn't really make a huge difference on whomever you are gifting it to. It's just something worth noting before anyone orders it. Our Daughter couldn't be happier, having received this as a present. We already had the Book of Bill, and this one is a welcome addition to her home library.

Gravity Falls Fans, Your Time Has Come With This Excellent Book
Format: Hardcover
'Gravity Falls' was one of the best animated series to be created on the Disney Channel, where the majority of shows are trash IMO. The humor, voice acting, writing, animation and mythology were all perfect. Very much like a kids version of The X-Files, but not dumbed down and still very adult in many ways. Dipper's Journal 3 was something I've always desired to see become an actual bookshelf tome and now fans, like myself, have it in this extremely awesome book. All the pages shown throughout the series are there, as well as those that were never seen or hinted at, and a large section supposedly added by Dipper and Mabel. One of the best features that caught me by surprise were the front and rear covers. Normally, a book with a dust jacket like this has a neutral plain one color cover to it under the removable jacket. Not this baby! It looks just like the jacket, just without the logos. Really, you don't even need the jacket, but it does protect the beauty of the real covers. Even better, the publisher went a step further by adding a treat to fans on the inside of the dust jacket. Blueprint forms of the Memory Gun, Gideonbot, The Portal, Laptop and Sea Monster submersible. I never expected that since 98% of them are just white on the inside. Another wonderful addition is the sewn in cloth bookmark. You know a hardcover is well made when they have one of these. Shows the publisher spent time to make it worth having and enjoying. I'm not going to talk about the interior pages, since they are all fantastic. Just get the book and have a great time with it. Now, there are two things missing that should have been included, and technically would have dropped my rating to four stars, but the book is still five nonetheless. It is missing a cryptogram decoder page and a foldout poster of the full Bill Cipher cryptogram map Dipper and Mabel had to put together using all three journals. There is a decoder on-line, but having it in the book should have been a no-brainer addition since every page has codes to decipher. Writing wise, the only minor thing that bugs me is with the misuse of commas, or the lack of, where they should be at times. For example, when describing three things - blue, red and green - Rob Renzetti has a tendency to do like a LOT of people have started up over the last decade or so in putting a comma after the second word 'red' when it doesn't belong there. Yes, I'm being a grammar nitpick, but it really gets annoying after awhile. These elements are minor and the amount of excellent artwork and information contained within the book make up for missing items and writing issues. It's a shame the 'Special Limited Edition' version with blacklight ink pages, removable images/notes and a magnifying glass is so extremely expensive. Instead of two books, there should have been just one with all of the goodies. This is a must have for all Gravity Falls fans. Don't miss it.

As a huge gravity falls fan I can say this book does not disappoint. It’s very well detailed and fits exactly like the show. I just wish it was black light activated like in the show
