Description:
Humankind: Ruskin Spear is the first book on the painter Ruskin Spear RA (1911-1990) since a brief monograph in 1985. It uses Spear's career to unlock the coded standards of the 20th-century art world and to look at class and culture in Britain and at notions of 'vulgarity'.
The book takes in popular press debates linked to the annual Royal Academy Summer Exhibition; the changing preferences of the institutionalized avant-garde from the Second World War onwards; the battles fought within colleges of art as a generation of post-war students challenged the skills and commitment of their tutors; and the changing status of figurative art in the post-war period. Spear was committed to a form of social realism but the art he produced for left-wing and pacifist exhibitions and causes had a sophistication, authenticity and humour that flowed from his responses to bravura painting across a broad historical swathe of European art, and from the fact that he was painting what he knew. Spear's geography revolved around the working class culture of Hammersmith in West London and the spectacle of pub and street life. This was a metropolitan life little known to, and largely unrecorded by, his contemporaries.
Tracking Spear also illuminates the networks of friendship and power at the Royal College of Art, at the Royal Academy of Arts and within the post-war peace movement. As the tutor of the generation of Kitchen Sink and of future Pop artists at the Royal College of Art, and with friendships with figures as diverse as Sir Alfred Munnings and Francis Bacon, Spear's interest in non-elite culture and marginal groups is of pa

Beautiful, versatile bag with standout details
Color: Mk Signature/Vanilla/Acorn
This is a stunning bag, especially in the vanilla color. The hardware and overall detailing feel high quality and really elevate the look. It is the kind of piece that gets noticed and works well as a statement accessory without being over the top.
Even though it is on the smaller side, it still holds a surprising amount, and the size keeps it comfortable to carry without feeling bulky. I also love the versatility of being able to use the top handles or attach the crossbody strap depending on the situation. It pairs just as well with casual outfits as it does with more dressed-up looks for a night out.
While this bag does have a premium price tag, it does not feel like they skimped on any details or hardware so that feels like a good value there. I also appreciate the two-in-one versatility, which also helps when considering the cost of this bag as well.
Overall, this is a beautiful and functional bag that I have really enjoyed, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

I'm in love
Color: Chambray, Color: Chambray
YES, PLEASE, and WOW!!! Let me start by saying I have never owned a Michael Kors purse before. I know they are extremely popular and a lot of women carry them. But, after receiving this little GEM, I can definitely see the appeal! She is absolutely BEAU..tiful. First, the COLOR... this blue screams spring and summer. The SIZE is perfect. I used to carry big purses and over the years have reduced it down significantly and carrying much less than I used to. So now I only carry small purses. It has more than adequate room for everything that I need on a daily basis. It has an inner open pocket and large open area inside. There is also a zippered pocket outside for quicker access. The DESIGN is so cute! I think they call it a barrel or duffel bag shape. Love it. Very easy to carry with handles, or by using the adjustable shoulder strap. Either is very sturdy and secure feeling. All the hardware is top notch. Everything is wrapped individually and protected from scratches during shipment. The blue "MK" embossed leather is soft to the touch, but durable and really makes this purse. It has 4 metal "feet" studs on bottom to protect the leather. This little cutie is obviously professionally made with an eye on quality, design, comfort, versatility, and perfection. I know she cost a pretty penny, but now I can honestly see why as it is an extremely well made purse. There is the value for the cost. Definitely recommend.
