Description:

The Routledge Companion to Theatre and Performance Historiography sets the agenda for inclusive and wide-ranging approaches to writing history, embracing the diverse perspectives of the twenty-first century and Critical Media History.

Written by an international team of authors whose expertise spans a multitude of historical periods and cultures, this collection of fascinating essays poses the central question: "what is specific to the historiography of the performative?" The study of theatre, in conjunction with the wider sphere of performance, involves an array of multi-faceted methods for collecting evidence, interpreting sources, and creating meaning. Reflecting on issues of recording — from early modern musical scores, through VHS-technology to latest digital procedures — and on what is missing from records or oblique in practices, the contributors convey how theatre and performance history is integral to social and cultural relations.

This expertly curated collection repositions theatre and performance history and is essential reading for Theatre and Performance Studies students or those interested in social and cultural history more generally.

Adorable book!
Format: Hardcover
Purchased this book as a Christmas gift for my husband’s little cousin, who is two years old. He adores Mickey and Minnie Mouse and his mother was the one who suggested it. I would recommend this book for all little readers.

Great quality and my 3 year old loved it. You press the relevant buttons as Mickey reads out the story. It's simple, cute and fun and encourages the kiddos to read along.

Great book, just wish it was more durable for toddlers
Format: Hardcover
My kiddo LOVES these Ready to Read books because she can "read" them herself and she likes the sound effects with each button. She easily figured out how they worked with me only showing her 2 pages. The pages are short so after only a day she's memorized what each page/button says, which will help with her reading skills. Love these! This Mickey book is a little boring compared to the Minnie book I also got her and she loses interest a little faster. Also, my kiddo is not quite 3, so I wish the books were a little more durable. The binding isn't very strong and the pages are very thin, so I've had to tape up multiple pages because she turned the pages a little too enthusiastically and they tore. I can already tell that unless I can convince her to be more gentle she'll probably end up ripping the main part of the book completely away from the cover within the next few weeks.
