The Benefits of Art for Well-being
We are coming to understand that creative pursuits can play a significant role in improving mental health. Stress can prevent us from being fully focused leading to burnout.
As a Secondary Visual Art teacher, Christina from Art and About knows the pressures that come with the workplace and the positive impact of artmaking. This led Christina to create Paint and Relax: Art for Well-Being.
Griffith University Nathan and Brigidine College Indooroopilly realise the benefits of a creative outlet each hosting regular Art for well-being workshops.
About the Program-
Have fun connecting outside the pressures of work or study. Art As Therapy and Well Being workshops deliver personalised painting group sessions. All you need to do is choose a painting from the Paint and Sip collection and make a booking.
What does Art and About provide?
Set up and clean up. All materials provided- paints, paintbrushes, an easel, a painting apron and a canvas.
Private Event Requirements-What Do I need to supply?
You will be required to provide glassware, tables & chairs. We will need a small space to set up equipment, an area for the teacher to demonstrate, access to running water and power at the venue.
BYO drink and nibbles.
Where are the Workshops Held?
Art and About comes to a venue of your choice.
How many can participate in the workshop?
Art and About can host up to 30 in a single workshop.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the session start time as workshops will begin at the designated time. BYO drink and nibbles.
SESSION CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULES
Booking Policy for ALL Private Events. Private events run for 2 hours and we can generally adjust your start and end time a bit if you give us notice.
All ages are welcome for private events. At least 1 week notice before date for cancellation or non-attendance of students. Sessions can be re-booked if you tell us ahead of time.
Fee structure - charges and payment based on final numbers confirmed 7 days prior to the event. To cover equipment and preparation time, if numbers are less at the event the original booking fee still applies.
No credit voucher or refund will be given. The number of painters for Private Events can be changed (subject to a minimum), free of charge until 7 days prior to the event.
