The PLATATAC VM load-bearing CAF MOD chest rig is an ambidextrous, general-purpose, no-frills, load carriage solution designed with flexibility and ease of use in mind. It is designed to work as a standalone chest rig, or mounted to a plate carrier via quick release ITW clips. It features a large zipper in the middle for easy donning and doffing when wearing cold weather kit, or with armour. 

The VM rig has a large carrying capacity, with four double 5.56 magazine pouches. An additional utility/frag grenade pocket is attached to the front of each mag pouch. Each mag pouch has bungee attached which can be tightened for additional security. The flaps on each mag pouch can be tucked away for easier reloads, or to carry 7.62 mags, store a small med kit, a pistol or smoke grenade.

On the extreme ends of the magazine pouches are zippered utility pouches, designed to hold either a 1 litre flask (e.g.Platatac 1L flask or 1 Litre Nalgene), or an AN/PRC-152 Multiband Handheld Radio (an inside mesh pocket with bungee retention securley holds the radio). Each side pouch features a smaller zippered admin pouch on the front for items like head torches, gloves, cam kits etc. and a small PALS field either side to attach MOLLE compatible pouches.

The VM rig also features two large mesh pockets on the rear of rig which allows the user to store flat items like a GRG, maps, marker panels, or similar sized items.

Included with the VM-Rig are two harness options, the standard CHICOM low pro adjustable shoulder straps and the CHICOM LW H-Harness which provides a lightweight general-purpose alternative to the low pro straps. Both harnesses are flat sewn, and are designed to remain as flat as possible for use with packs and other harness systems.
