Discover 'Intimacies, Received,' the powerful second collection by Taneum Bambrick, exploring themes of trauma, identity, and resilience. This beautifully crafted trade paperback published by Copper Canyon Press in 2023 captures the nuances of survival and intimacy. Set against the backdrop of rural Southern Spain, the narrative delves into the intricacies of queer female sexuality and the challenges of navigating a world marked by violence and misogyny.

In this poignant collection, Bambrick skillfully interweaves vivid imagery and varied forms such as ekphrasis and lyric essays, creating a palimpsest of memories that reflect healing and reclaiming agency. Readers will encounter a survivor’s journey, where each poem unearths the complexities of trauma while shedding light on the path to self-narration. This book is essential reading for those interested in contemporary poetry that confronts the harsh realities of life while resonating with a beacon of hope.

'Intimacies, Received' is not just an exploration of trauma; it is a celebration of the resilience found in intimacy and the power of storytelling. Perfect for enthusiasts of modern poetry, literary fiction, or those seeking to understand the multifaceted nature of relationships and personal history. Dive into this evocative collection that challenges perceptions and invites empathy.

Excellent book
Format: Paperback
My grandson is seven and he does not like to read but with these books he is eager to read and find out what is happening in the next chapter. These books are more on the comic book format and they are really fun to read. I like them almost as much as my grandson.

2nd grade son's favorite book of all time!
Format: Paperback
So this is not classic children's literature with beautifully written passages a la The Velveteen Rabbit. This IS, however, the only book my 7 year old son has read repeatedly (6 times?) and BEGGED me to buy so that we would have our own copy when it was time to return it to the library. Santa brought him 3 gifts this year- a Cozmo robot, a drone, and this book- they were all displayed together. Guess which one elicited the first scream? "Sparks!!! Santa brought me Sparks!!!" This comic book is not Shakespeare for children but the story is creative and FUNNY, the illustrations are great, and boy does it keep my kids' attention (my 4th grade daughter also loves it, though not to the obsessive extent of my boy). Get it- your child will love it. This is not a book for YOU to read aloud- this is for the child to read on his/her own. So when The Wind in the Willows has them yawning, hand them this instead.
