PRODUCT DETAILS

Moving the shifter assembly to the top of the exhaust tunnel might be your preferred method when K-swapping your car. It leaves extra room for a larger or more tucked exhaust, but also allows the use of our TL/TSX Short Shifter, offering some additional functionality over our ‘Bolt-In’ style assemblies. We put together this Race Shifter package to make relocation of the shifter straightforward, but also to give awesome shifting capabilities in the process. Our Mounting Plate allows this type of gear selector to mount in any EF/EG/EK/DA/DC chassis, the user only needs to drill two small M8 holes. Note that the center console doesn’t fit this arrangement.

What makes our TSX Shifter so great?

The team at Hybrid Racing has been making short shifters for over 15 years, it’s safe to say we have learned a few things along the way. Our latest generation of shifters is the sum of all the resources and knowledge we have collected over the years. These shifters incorporate modern manufacturing processes, countless hours of testing, and constant innovation to build upon the original design and arrive at the closest thing to shifting perfection.

Of course, what makes a good shifter is largely subjective. Adjustability was a major emphasis – allowing users to tailor their shifter to their liking. A 5mm Allen wrench allows the shift knob to be raised 2” taller, or .5” lower than stock (or anywhere in-between). Using the same Allen wrench, the knob can be offset closer to or further from the steering wheel.

This wouldn’t be a ‘short’ shifter without a reduced throw. Compared with an OEM TSX shifter, the range of motion between gears can be reduced by 5% to 45% (below stock throw). Gate spacing (left-right shifter motion) is also adjustable, meaning that if you like short throws and wide gates, long throws, and narrow gates, or any other combination, you can tailor it to your preference.

Unmatched quality

To make a high-end product that will stand up to the abuse of track driving, no corners were cut. The links are made from 6061-T6 aluminum with stainless steel ball bearings for a quiet operation with no need for lubrication. The frame that the shifter sits on is constructed from steel, making it incredibly rigid, however, as is evident in the design, the topology has been optimized to take as much weight out as possible. The result is a tight shifter that inspires confidence as you row through the gears.

With its superior construction, adjustability, and unmatched testing and performance, our shifter has, once again, set the standard.

Shifter Cables

These cables are not based on OEM dimensions, they are specifically created to connect our TSX Shifter to a K20Z3 transmission. But they do a lot more than simply ‘work’, they feature solid rod ends, permanently lubricated cores, and aluminum end links, giving them a firmer, tighter feel over the OEM. This provides greater feedback to the driver for a more intimate connection with the transmission.

The Cables can withstand heat up to 225°F and have a max bend radius of 5”, this makes life easy when routing and feeding them through the firewall. On top of this, another notable feature is upgraded stainless steel swivel support tubes (OEM are plastic) known to break on the factory cables. All of the rod ends and mounting bushings are CNC machined 6061 aluminum.

What is included with these shifter cables?

The kit comes with two shifter cables; each shifter cable set includes two cotter pins, and clips for the shifter end. We also include new hardware for the shifter cable mounting plates that attach to the transmission bracket.

Shifter Mounting Plate

The Shifter Plate makes this kit possible without fabrication. It is CNC machined out of an aluminum billet and finished in Dust Black. The base also includes a rubber seal to prevent dust, dirt, and fumes from entering the cabin.

Renews faith in comics
Decided to dive into the DC Comics New 52 and in preparation for Batwoman #1, I decided to pick up this book as a recommendation to getting the full story on this relatively new character to the DC world. This comic renewed my faith in comic books as both great stories and great pieces of art! Greg Rucka crafts a great story here but the artist JH Williams III presents it to you. You get to know this character here in more ways than just a quick reference. Batwoman is given the desire to serve her fellow man as her motivation. She is given the demographic of a Jewish lesbian soldier with a solid family background which is something we don't see much in our universe of white dominated or scarred superheroes. Sure she lost her mother and twin sister as at a young age, but she isn't damaged here. She rises above and serves only to be disappointed by trust issues in her life. But Rucka and Williams make her a bold woman who just keeps going like a shark, surviving because its her instinct and not her desire to escape something. This is the 21st Century woman superhero. Panels of note for me were: 1) how they presented the apartment Batwoman's alter ego lived in, 2) a beautiful full page spread showing the fight on the plane between Batwoman and Alice, 3) a transition panel where Batwoman and Alice are shown on the phone to each other, 4) a touching series where Batwoman as a child and her twin sister realize they are moving because of military orders and their life will change and they swear to always be there for each other. If you want to take a chance on the DC Comics reboot, take a chance on Batwoman #1 and get this one to bring you up to speed, you won't be sorry. A great twist for any new reader wanting to test the graphic novel/comic book scene.

Beautiful Art, Compelling Story
The birth of Kate Kane as Batwoman is one of my favorite graphic novels in my collection. I already owned the digital edition on my iPad, but the art by J.H. Williams was just too amazing not to see in print. This artist knows how to draw beautifully artistic pages; right down to the panels themselves. I also love the style shift from nighttime Batwoman to daytime Kate Kane. The story is really great, especially the ending of Elegy! I also really loved the back stories that follow, showing the history of Kate Kane and how she became the Batwoman. Its also good to know that the New 52 timeline in DC didn't delete all this continuity. Batwoman isn't another Batman flunkie. She's a strong woman and an amazing character that Greg Rucka and J.H. Williams really bring to life in this book.

Better Than Batman!
This is by far one of the best Batman titles that doesn't include Batman as the title character. I'm not much of a reader of Batman, but I have been very interested in Batwoman since I read the 52 series back in 2006. The story line itself is much better then when 52 presented her for the first time. I really like how Rucka focused more on her homosexuality and making her an identical twin too (since I'm a twin myself). However, what blew me away the most was the artwork. Williams really focuses on covering the entire page with art and color; giving you the full comic book art experience. I have seen and very much liked his work in Promethea and think this is just as good. Batwoman is now my second favorite super heroine after Wonder Woman of course.

Compelling and beautiful
I'll say this up-front: I'm a Marvel fangirl. Even so, this book has won me over to reading at least some DC stuff, because it's utterly beautiful. The writing is wonderful and compelling, and the art is astoundingly good, especially the creative, non-standard panelling. This book doesn't really sound like it'd be one as highly rated as it is, does it? Let's be honest here. It's about a lesbian Batman knockoff who's battling a mutant werewolf cult led by an insane Alice-in-Wonderland fan who speaks only in lines from Carroll's book. ...but they MAKE IT WORK. I don't know how, but it's powerful and a damn good read despite the craziness of the premise. And Kate Kane might just be my favourite superhero now.
