With the KV-1 and KV-2 heavy tanks in production, Soviet planners turned their minds to even more powerful tanks. On 17 June 1940, they ordered the Kirov plant to produce four prototypes by December 1940.
Only two were produced: the T-150, a KV-1 with heavier armour, and the T-220, a larger vehicle with even thicker armour and an 85mm gun. Testing revealed major flaws with both designs.

The T-150 was underpowered, and the new engine on the T-220 blew up on the second day of testing! Despite of this, the T-150 was ordered into production as the KV-3 in March 1941. Rumours of a massive German heavy tank, and the realities of producing what was in effect an even more unreliable KV-1 tank, quickly changed the order to produce the T-220 tank with a new engine and an even bigger 107mm gun.
This new design was to be ready in just six weeks, along with a production plan for over 500 to be built by the end of 1941.

The new KV-3 was fitted with a supercharged version of the V-2 tank engine, straight off the drawing boards. This time it worked, and with strengthened suspension and transmission, the tank had completed 1985km (1233 miles) by 22 June. At this point affairs were interrupted by the German invasion.
Within weeks the Kirov factory was threatened and evacuated to Chelyabinsk in the Urals and ordered to focus on producing existing KV-1 types to rebuild the Red Army after the disasters that had occurred at the start of the German invasion.

The KV-3 is perhaps the most balanced and powerful heavy tank in existence. It combines an outstanding gun with thick armour and reasonable speed. It is the perfect Tiger killer, yet it entered combat six months before the German Tiger heavy tank.

Overloaded
Super-heavy tanks and heavily-laden assault guns often overload their engines and suspensions, making them very poor at crossing obstacles.
When required to take a Bogging Check to cross Difficult Going, an Overloaded vehicle becomes Bogged Down on a roll of 1 or 2, rather than the usual 1. An Overloaded vehicle must re-roll successful Skill Tests to cross Very Difficult Going.

Unreliable
Whether poorly designed, unsuitable for the conditions, or requiring more maintenance than current supply considerations will allow, these vehicles have a significant chance of breakdown when pushed too hard.
If an Unreliable vehicle attempts to move At the Double, roll a die. On a roll of 1 the vehicle becomes Bogged Down.

Love these socks!
The wife struggles with socks. She only like the Nike ones, then they discontinued them, so had to start the search again! Found these, they are expensive just like the Nike, but the size is true, they look great, they are super soft and stretchy. They are light weight and breathable and seem to wick away moisture. She loves these!

I stay on your foot they don’t slip in your shoe
Number of Items: 3, Color: White/Neutral (3-pairs), Size: Medium
This is the only socks I wear Under Armour because they stay in place I wear a size 8, but they’re more comfortable with a large instead of a medium, but I wear both because I have them already and you can pull them to stretch them out a little bit

Great fit, truly doesn’t slide off heel
Number of Items: 3, Color: White/Neutral (3-pairs), Size: Medium, Number of Items: 3, Color: White/Neutral (3-pairs), Size: Medium
I’ve scoured all the lands looking for a no-show sock that was 1) thin, 2) quality, soft, breathable material, 3) didn’t dig into my feet/heels, 4) doesn’t shrink, and most importantly 5) stays on the back of my heel without a bulky non-slip rubber piece and these check all the boxes! Perfect for low profile women’s work shoes like Keds, etc. Not low enough for most flats though. I wear a women’s size 9.

So good - I’m buying MORE.
Number of Items: 3, Color: White (3-pairs), Size: Medium
I’m gonna give you more detail than you need about why I’m buying these socks again. I’ve been the mom of girl athletes. I’ve been a model and a fashion director. I’ve worn every brand of shoe on the planet and never found a shoe that did NOT find a vulnerable spot on my foot to rub raw. Even my beloved white Jack Purcell sneakers. With that said - I don’t like socks. I’ve bought a TON of them in 35+ years.....all major brands. They shift. They lose their shape. They get holes in them and wear out too fast. Not these. I retired this year, and knowing I’d be in sneakers a lot, traveling, sightseeing ...... I bought these 6 months ago and have worn them constantly. I’ve traveled with them. I’ve washed them in hot water and bleach. The socks are like brand new. They are exactly the right cut so as not to be seen in a basic sneaker. The little silicone patch on the heel stays put. Not once have I had to dig down into my shoe and pull the sock back up. The socks have stayed soft and EXACTLY the same as the day they were new. Like I said - I am back to buy them again. Great quality!
