Velocity Girl formed in 1989 or so at the University of Maryland outside Washington DC, and shortly thereafter settled on the lasting lineup of guitarist Archie Moore (Black Tambourine), guitarist Brian Nelson (Black Tambourine), drummer Jim Spellman (Starry Eyes, Foxhall Stacks, High Back Chairs, Julie Ocean, Piper Club), bassist Kelly Riles (Starry Eyes), and singer Sarah Shannon (Starry Eyes, The Not It's). The band combined English-inspired noisy shoegaze fuzz with scrappy US indie rock and classic '60s-style pop songwriting. A killer single on Slumberland and non-stop touring grabbed the attention of the indie-rock cognoscenti of the day, and, following a heated courtship involving both dinner AND dessert, Velocity Girl signed a contract on a car hood in Hoboken, New Jersey, making Sub Pop their home. In 1992 the band began work on their debut album, Copacetic, at Easley Studios - once home base to the Bar-Kays and other classic soul bands - in Memphis with Bob Weston (Volcano Suns, Shellac) at the helm, and then mixed the album with Weston in Chicago. While the album had strong songs - pop tunes like "Audrey's Eyes," "Pop Loser," and "Living Well" alongside ambitious explorations like "Pretty Sister" and "Here Comes" - the band had little experience with production and lacked the skills to "drive the boat" in the studio. As a result, the album turned out to be a rather stripped-down affair, lacking the lushness of their prior recordings. To the band's ear it was jarring, and they soon realized this wasn't the record they hoped to make. Bob Weston had done exactly what was asked of him and captured the sounds, but the band didn't do it's part to articulate a clear vision. But the band's slot in the studio was over, and Polvo had just showed up to work on their album, so off Velocity Girl went to shoot the video for "Audrey's Eyes." Copacetic came out in 1993 and people seemed to like it just fine, but within the band there was a sense of disappointment to the point where most members couldn't stand to hear the record. Between then and now, the band learned a lot about recording, and Archie Moore developed a career in audio work, and the band finally decided to revisit Copacetic. After extensive digging, the 2" tape reels appeared in Jim's ex-wife's mother's house, and in the spring of 2023 Archie began working on a remix. Song by song the new mixes emerged just as the band envisioned them. Soaring vocals from Sarah (who studied opera in college), chiming lead guitar, juicy fuzzed out rhythm guitars and clear pounding drums. The pop songs are much poppier. The sonic blasts are more powerful, and the record hangs together as a cohesive document that flows from song to song. The approach was not to make a 2024 sounding record but rather to go back to the 1992 mindset and create the record the band should have made then. The result, UltraCopacetic (Copacetic Remixed and Expanded), is an exciting alternate history of Copacetic. And, while they were at it, the band dug up and refreshed the rest of their studio material from the era: Ultracopacetic includes "Warm/Crawl" from the Velocity Girl/Tsunami split 7", "Creepy" from the Crazy Town 7", "Stupid Thing" from the Audrey's Eyes 7", and the unreleased album outtake "Even Die." Topping it all off is the band's complete five-song 1993 John Peel session, including two tracks that haven't been heard since the original broadcast. UltraCopacetic is truly the definitive version of Velocity Girl's first record.

Really impressed with the quality and absorption
Package Size Name: Double, Size: 12 Double Rolls (Pack of 1), Package Size Name: Double, Size: 12 Double Rolls (Pack of 1)
I’ve been using these Sparkle paper towels for a few days now, mostly in my kitchen, and I’m honestly impressed. The absorption is great, it handles spills like coffee or oil without needing a bunch of sheets. I also love the “tear-a-square” feature because you can use just what you need and avoid waste. They’re pretty strong too, don’t fall apart easily while cleaning, which makes a big difference for tougher messes. So far, totally worth it and I would definitely buy again.

Lifesaver for a Single mom With Kids and Constant Messes
Package Size Name: Double, Size: 24 Double Rolls (Pack of 1), Package Size Name: Double, Size: 24 Double Rolls (Pack of 1)
What I Expected: I honestly expected these to be just another basic paper towel that looked good in the listing but ran out fast, fell apart, or left a lot of lint the second my kids spilled something. The listing made them seem thick, strong, and a good value for a busy household. What I Got: After using them for a few weeks, I can say they have been a literal lifesaver. Between two kids, muddy shoes, spilled juice in the truck, quick cleanups in the garage, and wiping down the RV before a trip, these have held up way better than I expected. I’ve noticed minimal shrinkage after wet use, and they rarely leave any lint behind, which is a huge plus for cleaning everything from countertops to tools. What I Like: The pick-a-size sheets are great because I do not waste a full sheet for a small mess, and the towels are strong enough that I usually only need one. They are soft enough for everyday kitchen use but still durable when cleaning greasy tools or bigger messes. Quick tip for buyers: keep an extra roll in the truck or RV because they come in handy more than you think. What I Don’t Like: The only downside is that the rolls are large and take up a little more storage space. Final Verdict: Great for families, busy parents, garages, trucks, or RVs. Minimal shrinkage, low lint, and super durable—I will definitely buy these again.

Sparkle Pick-A-Size
Package Size Name: Double, Size: 24 Double Rolls (Pack of 1)
These are not large rolls. I can't say if they are lint free or not. I only use them for spills or to dry my hands. The price is right and they do the job we need. These are satisfactory paper towels for my house. I will buy them again.

The ultimate water bottle
Color: Iced Breeze, Size: 24 Ounces
I can’t believe I’m so excited about a water bottle. The design is amazing - I love that there’s no straw poking up but there’s still a straw sip function. I like that the carrying hook doubles as a lid locking mechanism. This bottle feels very sturdy but it’s sleek and easy to grab - I have small hands and it isn’t a problem for me to drink from with one hand. It’s also really nice that this bottle fits in standard couple holders both at the gym in the machines and in my car. The color selection is so fun and I am pleased that my bottle looks exactly as pictured. My water has stayed cold and my ice cubes frozen for over 12 hours now. Cannot recommend enough!

Keeps drinks cold all day
Color: Very, Very Dark, Size: 24 Ounces
We got this Owala bottle for our son to use as his everyday school water bottle, and it has been excellent. The 24oz size holds plenty of water for the school day without being overly bulky or heavy to carry around. The insulation works extremely well. Drinks stay cold all day long, even when the bottle sits in a backpack for hours. That’s probably the feature we’ve been most impressed with so far. It’s also been great for car trips since it keeps water cold for extended periods without needing constant refills. The design is really well thought out too. The built-in straw makes it easy to drink from quickly during class or while traveling, and the lid feels secure and leak-resistant when closed. It also has a clean, modern look that feels a little more premium than many standard water bottles. Build quality feels solid overall, and it seems designed to hold up well to everyday use from school, sports, and travel. Overall, this has been a fantastic everyday water bottle and definitely lives up to the hype. Keeps drinks cold, holds a good amount of water, and works equally well for school or road trips.
