Jim Shooter’s prolific career in comics began when he was just a teenager as he became the youngest writer to ever publish stories for DC Comics with his work on franchises like Superman and Legion of Super-Heroes. Shooter eventually found his way to Marvel Comics, working his way up to become the publisher’s editor-in-chief. During his run as EiC, he brought in era-defining writers and artists and spearheaded the blockbuster Secret Wars crossover event that helped to change the comic book business forever.After leaving Marvel, Shooter helped found Valiant Comics and together with seminal creators including Bob Layton, Barry Windsor-Smith, David Lapham, Don Perlin, and more. He established one of the longest-running and best-selling independent superhero universes and co-creating characters that include X-O Manowar, Archer & Armstrong, Eternal Warrior, Peter Stanchek and Toyo Harada, Shadowman, and many more.
