What is an Essex crystal?
Essex crystals (also known as reverse intaglios) are tiny works of art. The image is carved in reverse into the back of a domed rock crystal, then meticulously painted from behind before being sealed with a layer of mother-of-pearl or foiled backing. When viewed from the front, the scene appears almost three-dimensional like a miniature world suspended under glass. Victorians adored them, and sporting motifs such as horses, dogs and game birds were especially prized.

This piece is a classic of its type: crisp detailing, rich colour, and that magical sense of depth that gives Essex crystals their unmistakable charm.

Best sub paper!
Size: 8.5"x11"
This is actually my second box of this paper I purchased. I use it that much! I like it that much! It works easily through my Epson 2850. The sub ink transfers to this paper with vibrant colors before pressing. I like the ASub print on the back to help me load the paper correctly in my printer. The ink does not bleed through the paper. I like that this paper comes in a plastic bag and in a box. This is helpful to keep the moisture out of the paper. The paper is durable as I try to manipulate on my substrate.

It works
The adhesion on this is great once you've pressed it down. Key to note that it slips off very easily if it's not firmly pressed to the paper Im sublimating with. That's more of a plus for me because it's easy to move around and adjust without ripping the paper. Great value for the dollar overall. Performance wise it's done a great job of holding down the paper and stopping bleed through.
