Background

Neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) belongs to a family of growth factors called neurotrophins whose actions are centered in the nervous system. The neurotrophin family includes nerve growth factor (NGF), brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), neurotrophin-3 (NT-3), neurotrophin-4/5 (NT-4/5), neurotrophin-6(NT-6) and the recently cloned neurotrophin-7 Most of biological effects of neurotrophins are mediated by high affinity tyrosine kinase (Trk) receptors, although some of them require the binding to a low affini tyreceptor (p75LNTR). NGF binds to TrkA receptors, BDNF preferentially activates TrkB receptors, while NT-3 mainly interacts with TrkC receptors, and at lower affinity with TrkB receptors. NT-3 is structurally related to other neurotrophins like brain-derived neurotrophic factor. The expression of NT-3 starts with the onset of neurogenesis and continues throughout life. A wealth of information links NT-3 to the growth, differentiation, and survival of hippocampal cells as well as sympathetic and sensory neurons.

Finally Found a Pillow Worth Keeping

I genuinely feel like I’ve tried every pillow on the market. At one point, I thought Amazon was going to flag my account because I bought and returned so many pillows trying to find the right one. A bit expensive

Waited to give a review on this one because I needed several nights before I had any idea if it was as good as everyone says. I've had a real problem finding pillows lately. Either they're too soft to provide support and I wake up with a stiff neck or they're too sturdy and I wake up with a stiff neck. Contour pillows have worked best for me, but they fall under the category of too sturdy. I also toss and turn too much at night, which means I always end up in an awkward position with contour pillows. So I took a chance on an obscenely expensive pillow, and yes, that is the reason for one less star. I'd happily pay $70 for a pillow I thought was amazing and comfortable and perfect, but this one wasn't quite it. It IS comfortable. I have slept on it for a month now without it making my neck stiff, so it does actually provide a good balance between soft and sturdy. They make it easy to stuff the pillow to your preferred fluffiness and even provide extra stuffing if you need it, which adds to the degree of comfort. While the pillow does provide good neck support, I toss and turn a bit trying to find a comfortable position when I first try to sleep. The stuffing within the pillow moves around at night, most notably shifting to the side and the pillow is notably flatter now than when I first purchased it. You can fluff it out, similarly to a down pillow, but it doesn't seem to retain its shape on its own. In some ways, that's good because what it does instead is try to retain a shape that fits you. So yes, this is a really good pillow. One of the better ones you can buy. But it's really expensive for a pillow.
